Headshotsly Review: $4.99 for 5 Photos, What the Pricing Page Says (2026)

MBy Mucahit KayaUpdated Oct 16, 20263.1/5 · A $4.99 one-time pack of 5 photos in 4K, the smallest paid entry pack in our headshot reviews, plus one free full-HD photo with no account or email, credits that never expire, and a refund window with no download or generation cut-off. Held back by having no independent user report at all on likeness or keeper rate, a cost of about $1.00 per photo that larger packs at all four rival tools undercut, a refund that is 'full or partial' at the vendor's discretion, no named company behind the site, no security certification, and no stated retention period for selfies on paid orders.

Pros

  • The smallest paid pack with 4K output in our reviews: $4.99 for 5 photos, paid once, against $29 to $35 entry packs at HeadshotPro, Aragon AI and Dreamwave
  • One free photo in full HD with no watermark, no account, no card and no email, made from one selfie in about 10 seconds according to the free-photo page
  • Photos are made one credit at a time, so a miss costs one credit and you can change the outfit or background before spending the next
  • Credits never expire, and there is no subscription on the packs sold today
  • Self-serve deletion of all photos, or of the whole account, from the dashboard, as described in the privacy policy dated October 11, 2026
  • The vendor's own pages admit what is missing, including per-role saved looks for teams and automatic invite reminders

Cons

  • No dated, attributable user report about Headshotsly could be found on October 16, 2026, and the people shown on the homepage are AI examples, not customers
  • Per photo, $4.99 for 5 is about $1.00, which is not cheaper than HeadshotPro's $29 for 30 or Aragon AI's $35 for about 40; the saving is in the size of the first payment
  • The guarantee promises to 'work it out', and the terms say any refund is 'full or partial' at Headshotsly's discretion within 14 days of purchase
  • No named company or founder appears on the site, and disputes go to binding arbitration under Delaware law
  • No published retention window for uploaded selfies on paid orders and no security certification claimed, where HeadshotPro and Aragon AI state SOC 2 Type II
  • Two of the vendor's own pages disagree on whether the free photo is kept on its servers at all

Headshotsly sells 5 AI headshots in 4K for $4.99, paid once, according to its pricing page on October 16, 2026. One free full-HD photo with no watermark is available without an account, card or email. The refund is discretionary: the guarantee promises to "work it out", and the terms say "full or partial". Nobody has yet published a dated, independent report on how well Headshotsly's photos keep a buyer's likeness.

TL;DR: Headshotsly (headshotsly.com) is an AI headshot generator whose pricing page, read on October 16, 2026, lists $4.99 paid once for 5 photos in 4K, about $1.00 per photo, plus one free full-HD photo with no watermark and no email required. The 14-day guarantee promises to "work it out", and the terms make any refund discretionary. No independent user reports or likeness data exist for it yet.

Headshotsly is a web app at headshotsly.com that turns one selfie (or up to five) into professional and dating profile photos. It is a different product from Headshots.so and from the Headly iPhone app, which have similar names. For the ranked view of the tools we have covered in this space, see our AI headshot generator comparison.

Is Headshotsly legit? (headshotsly.com, not Headshots.so or Headly)

Headshotsly is a working paid service with published terms and a privacy policy, both dated October 11, 2026, and payments processed by Stripe. What it does not have yet is a public track record: no named company or founder appears anywhere on the site, the footer links only to an X account, and we found no independent user reviews on October 16, 2026.

The terms of service set the governing law as Delaware and send unresolved disputes to binding arbitration under American Arbitration Association rules. Users must be 18 or older and may upload only photos of themselves or of people who have given consent. Headshotsly's own records quoted on its homepage cover June to September 2026, so the service has been generating photos since at least June 2026.

How much does Headshotsly cost?

Headshotsly costs $4.99 paid once for 5 photos in 4K, with no subscription, according to its pricing page read on October 16, 2026. One credit makes one photo, and the page says pack credits never expire. The page puts no date on its own prices; it dates only its competitor comparison, "Checked 2026-10-06".

What is the cost per photo?

At $4.99 for 5, each Headshotsly photo costs about $1.00. That is the same as HeadshotPro's $29 for 30 (about 97 cents, read for our HeadshotPro review on August 19, 2026) and more than Aragon AI's $35 for about 40 (about 88 cents). Headshotsly is cheaper per purchase, not per photo. At $4.99 it is the smallest paid pack with 4K output in our reviews, where every other paid entry pack starts at $29 or more. It is not the cheapest way to get 4K photos: BetterPic's free tier gives 10 headshots at 4K for $0.

A second pack is another $4.99. The terms say "prices are subject to change with reasonable notice", so the figure above holds for the date it was read.

How much does Headshotsly cost for a team?

Teams pay $4.99 per person, with 5 photos each, and the pricing page's example is 3 people for $14.97 and 15 photos. There is no separate team plan: the terms say the team owner buys one pack per person and credits come out of the owner's balance. The team side includes a dashboard to track who has uploaded, upload links each person opens on their own phone, and group photos. Larger organizations are sent to a sales contact with no published price.

What do you get with the free Headshotsly photo?

The free Headshotsly photo is one image in full HD with no watermark, made from one selfie, with no account, card or email, according to the free-photo page read on October 16, 2026. The page says it is usually ready in about 10 seconds. You choose from 4 outfits (suit, blazer, white coat or smart casual) and 3 backgrounds (white, gray or cream).

The free photo has limits the page states plainly. Headshotsly counts one free photo per internet connection, so a shared office or home network may already have used it. A daily limit applies to all users together, and when it is reached the tool asks you to come back the next day.

How do you get started with Headshotsly?

Headshotsly's homepage describes three steps, and the cheapest order is to run them twice. First, make the free photo from one clear, recent selfie at headshotsly.com/try-free to see whether the face looks like yours. If it does, buy the $4.99 pack and upload up to 5 selfies taken from different sides, which the homepage says makes the photos "look more like you". Then pick what the photo is for (LinkedIn, dating, real estate, law, healthcare or something else), keep or change the suggested outfit and background, and make photos one credit at a time, up to 4 at once. Check the first one or two before spending the rest of the pack.

Which free Headshotsly option has a watermark?

Only the free preview at /start carries a watermark; the free photo tool does not. Headshotsly runs two free options: the free tool described above, and a "free preview for your job" at /start, which needs a free account (email or Google, no card) and adds "a small watermark". A new account gets its own preview even when the connection has already used the free photo. Paid photos, per the homepage, carry no watermark.

Is the free photo the same as the paid ones?

Not quite, and the difference matters if you are judging likeness. The free-photo page says both use "the same AI model", but the free photo uses one selfie at full HD, while paid photos can use up to 5 selfies at 4K. The homepage says more selfies from different angles make the result "look even more like you". By the vendor's own account, then, a paid photo may look more like you than the free one does.

Does Headshotsly offer a refund?

A refund is possible but not promised. The pricing page words its 14-day satisfaction guarantee as: "Not happy? Tell us within 14 days and we will work it out with you, which can include a refund." The terms go further and say Headshotsly will work to resolve concerns, "which may include a full or partial refund at our discretion", with requests made within 14 days of purchase.

How does the Headshotsly guarantee compare with rival refund policies?

Headshotsly's guarantee is softer in wording than HeadshotPro's and looser in conditions than several rivals. HeadshotPro markets a 100 percent money-back Realism Guarantee, but our HeadshotPro review found it is void once you download a single image. Our BetterPic review found a full refund only within 7 days and only before a model is trained, and Dreamwave refuses refunds once creation starts at upload. Headshotsly's pages set no download or generation cut-off at all; the trade is that the outcome is Headshotsly's call.

One more condition sits in the terms. Deleting your account forfeits any unused credits without a refund, though the terms say the 14-day guarantee still applies to purchases made in the preceding 14 days.

When is one free photo and a 5-photo pack not enough?

Five photos is enough only if most of them look like you, and no published figure says how often Headshotsly gets that right. No Headshotsly keeper rate exists, from the vendor or anyone else. For scale, our HeadshotPro review cites independent estimates of 10 to 33 percent usable photos for that tool; at those rates a 5-photo pack would hold one usable image or none. Whether Headshotsly does better or worse is unknown. The homepage says the photo "keeps your face, age and features", but no dated outside report on whether Headshotsly's photos look real or look fake existed on October 16, 2026, so the free photo is the only no-cost way to judge that for yourself.

Headshotsly's credit model softens that risk in one way. Photos are made one credit at a time, and the homepage says you can "change the style and make another" for 1 credit, so a miss on the first photo does not spend the whole pack. The free photo lets you check the basic likeness before paying anything, with the caveat above that it uses one selfie and full HD.

The free photo stops being enough the moment you need print resolution, more than one look, or a style outside its 4 outfits and 3 backgrounds. The $4.99 pack solves all three: 4K, every outfit, background and scene for the job you pick, and up to 5 source selfies. What the pack does not solve is a run of misses. If the first two or three paid photos do not look like you, the only routes are a second $4.99 pack or the discretionary guarantee. A buyer who needs a guaranteed likeness for a regulated directory listing, or who cannot afford a few dollars of misses, is better served by a tool with a published, conditional refund, or by a studio session.

How fast is Headshotsly?

Headshotsly says each photo takes "about 2 minutes", and also that half of all photos from June to September 2026 were ready in 51 seconds or less, by its own records. The two figures measure different things: one is a rounded promise for every photo, the other is a median. Both are vendor-reported, and no independent measurement of Headshotsly's turnaround exists. Up to 4 photos can be made at once, and the free tool's photo takes about 10 seconds.

Is Headshotsly private, and can you use the photos commercially?

Headshotsly says it does not use your photos to train AI and does not share them for marketing; that is a vendor statement, and no audit or certification backs it. The privacy policy names the services that touch your data: fal.ai for image generation, Cloudflare R2 for storage, Stripe for payments, Google Analytics and optional Google sign-in.

How long does Headshotsly keep your photos?

For paid orders, the privacy policy sets no fixed period: it says original photos are not stored "longer than necessary for service delivery". You can delete all uploaded and generated photos from Settings without closing the account, or delete the account from the dashboard, which the policy says removes photos, credits and purchase records immediately. Encrypted backups are purged on a rotation schedule the policy does not state. By comparison, our HeadshotPro review records a 30-day deletion window for input photos and a stated SOC 2 Type II posture, and our Aragon AI review records SOC 2 Type II as well. Headshotsly claims no certification.

Can you use Headshotsly photos on LinkedIn and your website?

Yes, by the vendor's terms. The pricing page advertises "Full Commercial Rights" and says "Use your headshots anywhere". The binding wording in the terms is narrower in phrasing: you "own the AI-generated headshots" and "may use them for personal and professional purposes". LinkedIn, a personal website or a company team page fit that wording. If you plan a use beyond your own professional profile, such as advertising, the terms are the text to rely on, and they do not use the word "commercial".

What do real users say about Headshotsly?

We found no dated, attributable user report about Headshotsly on October 16, 2026. There is no Trustpilot page for headshotsly.com, and a search of Reddit posts and comments for the name returned nothing. We did not check G2 or Capterra. The homepage carries no testimonials, and it labels the people shown as "AI examples", not customers. Headshotsly appears in a few tool directories, but those are listings, not reviews.

That absence is the main fact for a buyer: on likeness, realism and support, nobody outside the company has said anything yet. We will add dated, linked reports here as they appear. Results supplied by the maker are not used on this page (see the disclosure below).

Where do Headshotsly's own pages disagree with each other?

Without user reports, the useful check is the vendor against its own fine print, and four gaps show up.

  1. The pricing page says a refund "can" be included; the terms say "full or partial" and "at our discretion". The terms are the binding text.
  2. The pricing page says "Full Commercial Rights"; the terms say "personal and professional purposes" and never say "commercial".
  3. The privacy policy says photos uploaded to the free generator are deleted "immediately after generation" and that "no photos are retained"; the free-photo page and homepage say the free photo itself is "deleted from our servers within two days".
  4. The homepage promises a photo in "about 2 minutes", its step-by-step screens say "wait about a minute", and its own records put the median at 51 seconds.

None of these is large on its own, and they do not all lean the same way. On refunds and rights (gaps 1 and 2), the marketing pages promise more than the terms deliver. On free-photo retention and speed (gaps 3 and 4), the marketing pages promise less than the privacy policy and the vendor's own records. For anything involving money or usage rights, the terms are the binding text, so read them before relying on a headline claim.

What has changed at Headshotsly?

The main change is that Headshotsly stopped selling team subscriptions: since the terms of October 11, 2026, a team buys one $4.99 pack per person, and older subscriptions renew only until cancelled. Every dated entry below comes from Headshotsly's own pages.

  • June to September 2026: the period covered by the vendor's own turnaround records (median 51 seconds).
  • Before October 2026: Headshotsly sold team subscription plans (Small Team and Professional). The October 11 terms say these are no longer sold, existing ones keep renewing until cancelled, and teams now buy one pack per person.
  • October 6, 2026: the date on the pricing page's comparison with HeadshotPro, Aragon AI and InstaHeadshots.
  • October 10, 2026: the last day the free generator asked for an email address, per the privacy policy; it no longer does.
  • October 11, 2026: current terms of service and privacy policy published.
  • October 16, 2026: pricing read for this review at $4.99 for 5 photos in 4K.

Headshotsly vs HeadshotPro, Aragon AI and BetterPic

Headshotsly has the smallest paid pack of the five tools below and a mid-range price per photo; it is also the only one with no independent user record. The rivals' figures come from our own reviews, each dated to when its pricing page was read. Headshotsly's pricing page also publishes its own comparison with HeadshotPro, Aragon AI and InstaHeadshots; those are the vendor's figures, not ours.

Dreamwave$35 for 40about $0.88noneno refund once creation startsOct 15, 2026
</div>

The closest like-for-like choice is BetterPic's free tier against Headshotsly's free photo. BetterPic gives 10 headshots at 4K for nothing on a slower shared queue; Headshotsly gives one full-HD photo in about 10 seconds with no email. For a team rollout, HeadshotPro publishes a volume price and an admin-curated style pool that Headshotsly does not yet match.

Who should use Headshotsly, and who should skip it?

Headshotsly suits one person who wants a single new LinkedIn, resume or dating photo and would rather risk $4.99 than $29. It also suits anyone who wants to see an AI version of their face before giving an email address to anyone, since the free tool asks for none.

Headshotsly sells dating photos from the same $4.99 pack: the pricing page lists "AI dating photos" as one of the styles, the homepage describes them as "natural photos for Tinder, Hinge and Bumble" and offers scenes such as a cafe, and a separate free dating-photo tool turns one selfie into one dating photo. Those are the vendor's descriptions. We found no outside report on how natural Headshotsly's dating photos look, which matters more on a dating profile than on LinkedIn, since a match may later meet you in person.

Skip it if you need a refund you can count on, a published security certification for HR or procurement sign-off, or a consistent look across a large team. Skip it, too, if you want the reassurance of other buyers' experience: that record does not exist yet.

What gaps does Headshotsly admit itself?

Headshotsly's homepage lists its own missing pieces for teams. Saving a look per role so it fills in for each person is "not in the app yet". There are "no automatic reminders yet" for people who have not uploaded, so chasing them falls to the admin. Upload invite links expire after 7 days and have to be resent by hand. A team lead with 10 or more people should weigh those three before choosing it over HeadshotPro.

What are the best alternatives to Headshotsly?

The right alternative depends on what worries you. If likeness is the worry and you want to check it for free on more than one photo, BetterPic's free tier gives 10 headshots at 4K for $0, against Headshotsly's one full-HD photo. If you need a published security posture or a team rollout, HeadshotPro states SOC 2 Type II, deletes input photos within 30 days and publishes volume pricing, from $29 for 30 photos. If you want the whole field side by side, see our list of AI headshot tools we have reviewed.

Is Headshotsly worth $4.99?

For a single profile photo, Headshotsly is worth trying, starting with the free photo, because the free tool costs nothing and asks for no email. The $4.99 pack is a small, bounded bet with 4K output and credits that do not expire, and the per-credit model lets you stop after the first miss. It is not a cheaper tool per photo, and its refund is a promise to talk, not a promise to pay. Until independent buyers report on likeness, treat every quality claim as the vendor's own. If you want a pick backed by more evidence, start with our ranked AI headshot tools.

We re-read Headshotsly's pricing, terms and privacy pages every month and update this review with any change and any dated user report.

How did we review Headshotsly?

We did not test Headshotsly ourselves and make no claim about how its photos look. This review is built from Headshotsly's own pricing page, free-photo page, homepage, terms of service and privacy policy, all read on October 16, 2026, plus a search for independent user reports, which found none. Prices for rival tools come from our own published reviews and are dated in the table. How we weigh evidence and arrive at scores is set out in how we score tools.

Did Headshotsly pay for this review?

No. Headshotsly's maker submitted the tool through our submission form on October 9, 2026, in the free editorial-consideration tier. No payment was made, and we have no affiliate relationship with Headshotsly, although Headshotsly runs a creator and affiliate program of its own. The maker offered to supply test results; we did not use them as evidence. The submission had no influence on the score or on anything written here. Our rules on money and independence are on the affiliate and editorial standards page.
